Recording of the tires of a flat bed trailer going over a gravel path. This was from a hayride where i was sitting in the back with a bunch of kids being pulled by the tractor. Recorder was just a couple of feet from the wheel so most of the kids noises and even the tractor engine get drowned out, but still somewhat audible in spots. There are two recordings, one taken from the side with the mic at the wheel and one with the mic under the trailer while recording. (this is the one with the recorder off to the side. ). The sound could also (maybe) be used to mimic a hailstorm. Recorded with a sony icd-px312.

This recording was taken in the highland park, a chicago suburb. In this recording, the person recording took notice that there were many different pitches in the sound of the air in the open space. Listeners will also hear a rushing car and birds chirping. Furthermore, listeners will hear similar drops of water hitting a puddle off a gutter.

My neighbor mows a cul-de-sac with a riding lawn mower for about 2 minutes and drives away. As the mower drives away a car honks and some distant shouting can be heard. Recorded with a zoom h4n pro placed on the windowsill facing the cul-de-sac.

It's a pretty long sound you can cut it and get the parts you need from it, it just basically 2 drivers fighting while a kid cries sometimes in the background. I recorded it with a friend of mine in a car drifting and my other friends were standing outside yelling at us on purpose.

I didn't see which bird this was as i was recording a video and kept the clip for this audio. I have cut the volume of a passing car. The bird singing maybe a blackbird, possibly blue tit, robin comes to mind or a starling which do imitate other birds.

I videoed this sound of a subway train in glasgow scotland on the famous "clockwork orange" train as they are called. I used my canon powershot a460 digital camera to video this, i simply took the sound from the video. I recently contributed a track to a triple lp set of krautrock cover versions ("head music 2", released by fruits de mer records, december 2020). The song i chose to cover was kraftwerk's "autobahn". If you know the track, you'll know that it uses synthesised traffic sounds alongside recordings of the same. On my version, i achieved these in three ways:. 1) i downloaded some public domain traffic sound effects from elsewhere here on freesound. Org (thanks, guys!). 2) i got in my car with my zoom recorder and made my own recordings of the engine starting, stopping, etc. 3) i made my own sound effects using virtual synths and effects in ableton live 10. This particular sound falls into the third category. Let me stress that while the song "autobahn" is copyrighted, these are isolated sound effects and are not covered by copyright. I'm making them available here under a public domain licence. If you download and use any of these samples, please let me know in the comments what you did with them. It's not compulsory but it would be interesting to know what people did with these sounds.
